Ascend Psychology and Wellness
Forward progress. One step at a time.
We are so glad you are here, because that means you are taking even a few moments to think about yourself and your wellness.
Maybe you’re feeling stuck in your life, overworked and overwhelmed.
Or maybe you’ve just experienced a major change.
Maybe your life looks great “on paper,” but you spend all of your time worrying, not sleeping, and feeling down.
Maybe you have some habits that are really bothering you.
You’ve really tried to fix it yourself…you’ve read the books and the blogs and listened to the podcasts. But still, something just doesn’t feel right.
We’re here to tell you, there is hope.
At Ascend, we welcome you as you are.
We listen to you with compassion and openness, and we work together to help you develop the skills and tools to approach life’s challenges with confidence.
We are grounded in science, using evidence-based therapies to meet your needs.
Standing at the base, you might feel scared or intimidated.
But if you're going to get to the top, you just have to start by taking a few steps.
As you climb, some parts will be really difficult.
You might have to slow your pace or change from walking to scrambling or find a slightly different path. Some parts will be easier and you can catch your breath. Sometimes you just have to stop and look at the view or reflect on how far you've climbed.
There is no straight path to the top, and there's actually times you have to hike down to hike back up again. Or take a windy switchback.
The point is, you just keep going, step by step.
The journey to wellness is like climbing a mountain.
You can do this.
WE can do this. Together.

Your emotional well-being is the centerpiece of a healthy life, and to feel good emotionally, we need to explore the whole you. We will examine all of the dimensions of your life (physical health, relationships, work, self-care) and how those parts of your life are affecting how you feel and how you act. You are a unique human, and will work together to design a course of treatment that feels right for you.
I am a solution-focused, action-oriented therapist. That means that we won’t just be talking about what’s bothering you, but we will work on actual strategies to help you feel better. I use two main approaches that are both grounded in science: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Tailoring these approaches to your needs, we will examine your patterns of thinking and behavior to determine how those patterns impact how you feel. We will also help you lean into the things that make you “you,” and help you live your life authentically and in accordance with your values.
My Philosophy:
Who I treat:
Having worked with a diverse array of clients across hospitals, medical offices, and outpatient clinics; I developed a particular specialization in treating athletes and high performers. I enjoy collaborating with athletes of all levels–professional, collegiate, and recreational. As a former collegiate volleyball and softball player, I understand that athletic performance incorporates so much more than physical training. I work with athletes who are struggling with anxiety, motivation, confidence, focus, or team dynamics.
I see athletes after they have experienced some major event in their athletic lives; such as acute and chronic injuries, pain, illness, physical changes with aging, or retirement from sport. I also frequently work with athletes struggling with eating concerns and body image.
Additionally, I specialize in treating high performers–people who have achieved success in their lives but feel “stuck” emotionally. These individuals have drive and determination that has served them well…until it doesn’t. The flip side of pursuing perfection can be anxiety, depression, issues with food and sleep, too much exercise, or worsening physical health. I help these high performers continue to harness the positive parts of their drive while helping them move through their emotional and behavioral challenges.
In addition to providing individual therapy, I also offer consultation services to organizations wanting to learn more about high performance, perfectionism, and effective teamwork.
